About Rebecca Daye

Hi, I’m Rebecca!

I was born and raised in Western Washington, and I am so grateful to still call it home. My heart is deeply connected to the communities in this area and to how I can support the great work that is already being done.

After spending five years as a Finance Manager at a local grassroots nonprofit, I set out to pursue my dream of establishing a small business. I founded A Path Forward Accounting Services with the goal of providing local grassroots nonprofits with affordable access to bookkeeping and accounting services.

My own lived experience enables me to lead with empathy and compassion in all that I do, including discussions about money. Let’s connect and explore how I can support!

Testimonials

“I worked side by side with Rebecca at a local non-profit organization. My first day there, Rebecca was nothing but welcoming and loving. Every time I came into the office, I knew I could count on her to be a bright spot in my day. Over the course of three years working with her, I witnessed her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to stay on top of her finance-related duties. I cannot recall a single ‘bad’ interaction with Rebecca, as she consistently led with love, care, and respect. Whenever I asked questions or needed support, she was there to guide me with patience, which is important in a work environment. Safe to say that if she is around, whether it’s work-related or not, she would be nothing short of amazing!”

Henok G. (Community Navigator)

“I had the pleasure of working with Rebecca for three years, and she is one of the most amazing and dedicated people I know.  What I appreciated the most is how she is intentional about making accounting as accessible as possible and knows how to translate these complex terms and processes in a way that is easily digestible for all. You will not regret hiring her for your accounting needs!”

 Christina U. (Project Manager)

“I have worked closely with Rebecca for years, and she has been a joy to partner with.  She has demonstrated great character and integrity, particularly in her approach to bookkeeping, where she has consistently sought to establish robust practices and processes that ensure accountability and transparency.  She is a great collaborator and a good listener when it comes to solving problems and finding solutions that are both practical (for non-financial folx) and still maintain high fiscal standards.  Even after changing organizations, I still reach out to Rebecca for support and solutions!”

Katie R. (HR Director)

“Rebecca has always carried her work with integrity, respect, and deep compassion for seeing people succeed. The foundation she built for our finances has not only transformed our systems and processes for the better but also provided our participants with the best possible access to services.”

Chase G. (Community Navigator - Direct Service)

“I had the pleasure of working with Rebecca in the past, and I can confidently recommend her as a prompt, professional, and highly reliable team member. She consistently demonstrated excellent attention to detail, met tight deadlines with ease, and handled sensitive payroll matters with the utmost discretion and integrity.

Her professionalism, organizational skills, and strong work ethic were instrumental in ensuring smooth accounting operations. Her ability to communicate clearly and resolve any issues quickly made her a trusted resource for all employees."

Daicia M. (Mental Health Counselor)

“I had the pleasure of working with Rebecca at a nonprofit that advocated for youth impacted by the juvenile justice system. Rebecca made my job easier in direct service.

The best part about Rebecca that needs to be shared is her ability to make numbers talk. Many finance professionals are often perceived as just number crunchers and somewhat out of touch with the actual community work, but this isn’t true for Rebecca. Her understanding of what’s going on in society makes her process invoices in a timely fashion and process financial assistance checks, knowing that time is of the essence when it comes to marginalized communities and their plights in society. Lastly, her willingness to talk to other finance liaisons when direct service workers might not have the terminology was also important. Once again, her ability to make numbers talk, depicting the stories of direct workers and the communities we serve, is unmatched.”

Olivia C. (Probation Officer)

“Working with Rebecca was like a breath of fresh air. For anything she needed from me for payroll or submitting reimbursements to the purchasing program, I was never left unclear about what the process would be to request or submit these items. Her approach is efficient and clearly defined. Absolutely love her & her expertise!!!!”

Lamaria P. (Program Manager)

“Rebecca is quick to help and share her breadth of knowledge on accounting and related areas. She does a great job demonstrating how scopes of work can overlap and support each other in this regard, and maximizes transparency whenever possible. Aside from her professional knowledge, her lived experiences inform her compassionate approach to center clients despite systemic inequities that produce barriers for marginalized communities.”

Anonymous (Grants Manager)
